Melvin Randall Brooks Obituary

Gallatin, TN - Melvin Randall Brooks passed away June 28, 2025 at age 79. The Funeral Service conducted by Pastor Greg Dunigan will be held Thursday July 3, 2025 at 1 p.m. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11-7 p.m. and again on Thursday from 11 until service time. Burial will follow in Sumner Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Matt Madison, Jake Sircy, Chris Kimbro, Connor Kirby, Richard Brooks and Raymond Brooks.


Melvin was born in Sumner County, TN to Fannie Moss and Floyd Brooks, Sr. He worked as an electrician for many years. He is survived by his children Michelle "Tootie" (Mike) Madison of Westmoreland, Sondra Brooks of Gallatin and Stevie (Brittany) Brooks of Lafayette; grandchildren Matthew (Mandie) Madison, Jessica (Jason) Leftrick, Casey (Jayr) Scruggs, Jake (Jen) Sircy, Chris (Tiffani) Kimbro, Brooke (Jake) Perry, Connor Kirby, Carson Brooks and Levi Keen' and 22 great-grandchildren.


He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Chandler Brooks, daughter Stephanie Brooks, grandson Will Reed, great-grandson Wyatt Reed; siblings Eugene Brooks, Floyd Brooks, Jr, Herman Brooks, James Brooks, Robert Brooks, Howard Brooks, Larry Brooks, Georgia Brooks, Marie Pryor, Martha Hodges and Elizabeth Merrit,;and his parents, Fannie Moss Brooks and Floyd Brooks, Sr.


In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or DSAMT Foundation for Down Syndrome.
