Gallatin, TN - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Ronald "Ronnie" Smith, who passed away on April 22, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on February 18, 1944, in Gallatin, Tennessee, Ronnie was a devoted husband, father, and brother, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.


Ronnie was an athlete at heart, dedicating his time to the joys of golf and tennis. For three years, he proudly served in the Army, demonstrating a commitment to his country that reflected his deep sense of duty and honor.


He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret "Peggy" Smith; his children, William Ferrell Smith and Maggie Smith Moran (Pete); and sister Edna Jean Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Norman Smith and Edna Hodges Smith; stepfather Charlie Smith; brothers Tim and Lanny Smith; sisters Barbara and Theola Smith; and a host of dear friends.


A memorial visitation for Ronnie will take place on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026, at the Gallatin Country Club from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 1501 E. Main Street, Gallatin, TN 37066.
